As a coffee fan, we love finding awesome coffee shops when traveling. When you go on a trip to Singapore, you will discover a ton of fantastic places for coffee. Singapore has everything from trendy cafes to traditional “kopitiams” (local coffee shops). Here are 5 great coffee spots I’d recommend for tourists:
Chye Seng Huat Hardware
This hip cafe is located in a former hardware shop from the 1930s in the cool Jalan Besar neighborhood. The retro signs and items they have on display pay tribute to the building’s history. But the real draw is their specialty coffee brewed on high-end espresso machines.
My favorite is their stunning Galaxy Latte colored with natural blue pea flower powder. The relaxing vibe, colorful shakes, and selection of rose wine make this a lovely spot to escape the afternoon heat.

Common Man Coffee Roasters
Common Man is a top local roaster with multiple cafes focused on ethically-sourced coffee beans. The cozy Chinatown shop on Martini Road is a perfect introduction. The baristas here use specialized scales and pour-over equipment to meticulously brew each cup.
You can people watch through the big windows on the second floor or chat with the knowledgeable baristas about brew times and methods. They craft incredible coffee with precision and passion.

Killiney Kopitiam
In a city full of stylish modern cafes, Killiney Kopitiam provides an authentic taste of Singapore’s rich coffee heritage. Originally founded in 1919, Killiney has over 30 locations serving beloved local breakfast fare.
Grab a strong traditional kopi coffee as you indulge in kaya toast (bread with coconut jam), and soft boiled eggs. The noisy communal vibe, retro green signage, and locals reading newspapers or playing chess make these beloved kopitiams feel like the beating heart of Singapore’s food scene.

Nylon Coffee Roasters
With multiple chic locations, Nylon represents the growth of Singapore’s specialty coffee culture. But their artsy Everton Park branch best captures their spirit. Here, baristas adorn shots of espresso made from their house-roasted beans with bold, colorful latte designs.
Beyond excellent coffee, Nylon also serves up totally Instagrammable brunch items. The cool vibe, coffee nerd knowledge, and satisfying brunches make Nylon an unbeatable spot.

Tolido’s Espresso Nook
Tucked behind a laundromat along Rangoon Road, this hidden gem started as a pop-up concept sustained through word-of-mouth buzz. But the little kiosk’s reputation for incredible coffee speaks for itself, attracting crowds that spill down the street. Using beans from specialty local roaster, Tolido’s expert baristas pull perfect espresso shots then load them with artful latte designs.

These standout coffee shops highlight Singapore’s thriving and diverse cafe scene. From traditional local flavors to creative specialty roasters, there’s so much variety to explore for caffeine enthusiasts visiting the city.
Hope this helps, happy sipping!
